A Note From Casey

April 20, 1937 George Takei was born in Los Angeles California.  In 1942 his family was forced to live in internment camps by the US Government until the end of World War 2. Then in 1965 he became legendary when he landed a role on a little show called Star Trek where he played Mr. Hikaru Sulu, Helmsman of the Enterprise.  Now he has a fairly large presence on the Facebook, Twitter, etc. So if you like Star Trek or Funny Pictures head over to http://www.georgetakei.com/ and wish him a happy birthday!
Another mildly embarrassing thing that happened this week in history is the failed Bay of Pigs Invasion.  For those of you who don’t know what that is I’ll explain.  In 1960 the CIA with Eisenhower’s blessing decided that this Castro guy wasn’t working out and needed to be “Taken Care” of; So the CIA began recruiting anti-Castro Cuban exiles and trained them.  When President “Pretty Boy” Kennedy took office in 1961 he was briefed on the operation and gave it the green light, so on April 17, 1961 we sent our “invasion” force to Cuba.   Castro easily defeated the forces and presumably mocked us for years afterward.

The workload this week is proceeding on. Inking has begun and I’ll be working on them until this weekend when I will start working on some of the trading cards and their duplicates, I LOVE getting ready for Cons…pant, pant, pant! :)

    Anything by Taylor Swift is pretty annoying … she’s cute but, she can’t sing, she should stick to writing. I like Adele but agreed Eric, they play her stuff way to much. Don’t like rap myself Mom, a few songs, but not many. “Your Beautiful” … puke … hate that song too Stitch.

Cabins, Friends, and Scotts

So this last weekend we went out to see a movie with friends and saw “The Cabin In the Woods,” it has been years since I went to a horror film in a movie theater and now I remember why…BLEEECH! What a terrible movie. The idea was good, delivery STUNK! The only redeeming quality about the entire movie was the company we went with. It’s is nice to be with a group of people that when you screw up in front of them that they move on and don’t judge. That is what the movie great. Thanks guys.

Penciling is almost done for STV. Sunday I sat down and made out a progressive list of things I would like to see completed before Spring Con. The list is long but I think that it is do-able. A lot of things on my plate for this week, I’ll let you all know as I get them done.

 

So I was sitting here watching Hulu as I was trying to come up with this week’s “You Name It” and that advertisement for Scotts Lawn Care came on..A-HA!
